BOOK 1 of 3 Parts!
During the day I’m your average mother of three. The PTA President, football carpool mom, you name it – my kids are into it. But by night I’m someone’s dirty little secret.
I never meant for my life to become what it is. Desperation is a tricky little bitch. My husband of thirteen years left us to fend for ourselves. Doors closed. Opportunities vanished. I saw no other choice.
My world changed when I created an ad. It was dangerous. But it was also empowering.
For the first time in years I feel desired.
This was only a means to an end. Instead one ad changed my life forever.
Volume One of Three Part Serial - 22,078 words.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - Not my favorite Dawn Robertson book but I'm intrigued enough to continue the series. The author scared me about online dating in Statistic, now she scares me about Craig's List! Madeline was so wrapped up in being a soccer mom, PTA & her children's sports, that she failed to tend to her husband & he cheated. That alone ticks me off because I'm sure this is the downfall of many marriages. Marry me & raise my children, oh well now you are doing exactly what I asked of you but the kids take up all of your time & I'm lonely? What kind of crap is that! Now that Madeline's been divorced for a little while she's come to realize that their marriage wasn't very satisfying. The worst part is that Drew convinced her to give up her career as a history teacher to raise their children. Now she has no husband & no career. Madeline reads an article about a girl becoming a hooker on Craig's List & an idea is born. It works out fairly well the first time around - she meets Brian, a widowed doctor with a beautiful beach house. He's gorgeous, aging gracefully, has an incredibly sweet honest side that is flipped on its head when he becomes aggressive in the bedroom. "I guess this Prince Charming has a dirty side." :) If Madeline ended her short Craig's List ad right here with Brian the beautiful doctor everything would be peachy keen. That would be too easy & Madeline discovers quickly the dangerous road she went down by placing her racy ad. The story was short but still interesting. I want to have more heat from Brian & Madeline though and didn't get enough of their connection to rate the book any higher. Dawn Robertson stories usually leave me hot & bothered, some of the hottest sex scenes I've ever read, so I will continue with the series & keep my fingers crossed!Product details

The Job Volume One edition by Dawn Robertson Lily White Rachel Mizer Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
While I normally don't read short stories, I will never turn down a DR book. I absolutely love her work, and this story surely doesn't disappoint. Most single mothers can relate with to Madeline. Who wouldn't do almost anything to provide for their children? Because let's face it we want our children to have a better life. I look forward to reading more about Madeline, Drew, Brian and the scum lawyer.
I'll have to admit, the blurb and cover sold me on this book! What a sexy, funny quick read. This is my first book by Dawn Robertson and I love her writing style. Maddie is a thirty something single mother looking to make some extra money. She's such a relatable character and has definitely gotten herself into some sticky situations. Looking forward to part 2 & 3 of this serial!
Dawn has done it again with The Job Volume 1. In the Job you are introduced to Maddie who is recently divorced. She is a single mother of 3 who is trying to make her way back into the job force after being a stay at home mom for 13 years. She feels that she has exhausted all avenues for income, until she decides to give Craigslist a try, where she stumbles upon the personal adds and decides to give it a whirl. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I fell in love with Maddie and could completely understand her struggle and the need to provide for her family. She is a genuine and sweet character that finds herself in a bad place doing things she never would have imagined. The ending left me screaming for more. Can’t wait for Volume 2!!
Madeline is down on money and luck and face palming her way through her current situation. She gets brave one wine filled night and decides to look on Craigslist for a job. After talking to her friend she gets a crazy idea to start turning tricks, through Craigslist. (Crazy girl, but I have to admit her reasoning makes sense.). She meets Brian who is widowed and they instantly have a connection. Halfway through the book, I was searching for part 2 on , and now I'm impatient for the rest!
This book is super good and I can't wait for more! It was a very welcomed fresh air for something different!
Ummm..ok, so this is one of those books that you get to read and you like it but are not totally obsess about it.
The story line is really good mother of three, recent divorcee, trying to make ends meet while ex-husband is banging young hot twenty-something, while at the same time trying to re-discover herself and all that she lost through all the years she spent trying to build a happy family, and how she ends up making the money her ex-spouse doesn't want to pay is hilarious, and it was kind-of-funny trying to picture Madeline during the day as the perfect PTA mom and during the night uses Craigslist to find single men and sort-of-date-them in exchange for money. And then is when I begin to have problems with this book
*First she meets Brian, and don't get me wrong I love Brian here, but it all seems to happen too fast, too deep, too serious, too soon.
*Then she meets the creep and it turns out to be her future boss? who is blackmailing her? again too fast and too superficial by the way the reason she just gives up and lets him have her.
*My next problem is that this book is a serial, and i like to sit, read and enjoy a story and not have to wait until next week to find out what going to come up next like on TV.
Leave it to Dawn to continue to keep me on my toes.
Everything was great for Maddie until the day she found out her husband was having an affair with a young chick. So Maddie resorts to drastic measure to be able to provide for her and her kids. While looking online for a job she starts scrolling through personal ads on craigslist and because of an article her friend tells her about she creates a female looking for male ad. The next day upon opening the replies she decides to reply to one from a guy named Brian. She meets up with him and ends up enjoying herself. She also replies to another that doesn't go so well. She decides to delete the ad and not go on anymore "dates". She and Brian hit it off so well they decide to continue dating. By the end of the book she goes to an interview for a job at a law firm and ends of being blackmailed into taking the position because of the 2nd "date". I love this book and can't wait to read book 2 and 3.
